If you look at an individual muscle fiber, this synapse is called the. Neuromuscular junction: single most synaptically secure synapse in our entire body, any individual muscle fiber receives input from a single motor neuron, h/o a motor neuron can innervate multiple muscle fibers, called a motor unit. Definition: specialized synaptic junction between an alpha-motorneuron axon terminal and a skeletal muscle fiber. The motor end=plate potential generated by the synaptic release of ach is always a graded, depolarizing potential. The amplitude of the end=plate potentials is always suprathreshold (+30 mv) for ap generation and subsequent conduction of aps into the t-tubules. When a motor neuron axon terminal depolarizes and releases ach, the underlying fiber contracts. If you prevent the release of ach, you will get complete paralysis (relaxation)
