Chf death since your organs aren"t getting enough blood. Causes - failing to fill the heart properly during diastole. Ability of returning blood stretch wall out is diminished. Heart is filled passively; if you have to stretch it, it becomes harder to fill. Right has smaller pressure than left heart. Chf involves left heart failure - failure to pump blood to the system. Condition where normal tissue replaced by fibrous. Seen after mi where dead cells replaced by fibrous ct, which is strong but can"t contract and ct not extensible and can interfere with function of the heart. Cannot be refilled properly since it"s hard to fill. Result of genetic responses, but in some cases is idiopathic. Familial and sporadic amyloidosis (not associated with gene related. Deposited around large vessels restrict refilling of the heart. Leads to fibrotic events in membrane expansion. Can also leads to increased fluid in space restricts filling of heart.
