Document Summary
We perceive things as brain interprets it. Sensation- using sensory system to take in information about the environment (seeing color, hearing sound) Perception- more psychological; we interpret what that is; gives meaning to sensations. Transduction- translation of physical energy into electrical signals. Bottom up processing- we start with raw sensory information and then interpret what it is (example: first time hearing a song) Top down processing- because you have knowledge you start with expectations and then assign sensory information (example: listening a song you know, singing along, you still know how the song should sound even if there"s static) Once you have top down processing you can"t un have it (once you see image you can"t unsee it) Top down with the scrambled letters you know aoccdrnig to rscheearch at cmabrigde. Uinervisy is according to research at cambridge university (you have in your head what the words look like so even when scrambled you can figure out what they are)
