Teleology present events are motivated by goals and aspirations for the future. Ego: conscious aspect of self, not the core of personality, secondary to unconscious self. Personal unconscious: all thoughts, feelings, and urges not in conscious awareness, formed by personal experience, contents = complexes. Collective unconscious: contents are inherited as psychic potential, innate tendencies to react in a particular way to a stimulus, forms without content become archetypes. When personal experience corresponds to a latent ancestral image, archetype is activated. Persona: side of personality that projected to the world, reflects our role dictated by society.
