Closer to birth fetus sleeps 85-90% of the time. Includes deep sleep and rem sleep (> total time) Rem sleep associated with learning and memory. Abnormal sleep patterns here indicate a higher risk. Yawn, squint, swallow, make fists, sleep, move, hiccup. Doppler addition can add sound (e. g. heartbeat)
