My memoir tells the story of one of the most influential days of my life. I was eight years old when i was invited to, and attended, my first junior olympic gymnastics team training camp at the club gym i was currently a member of at the time. At my age, the purpose of the camp was to help determine which young gymnasts had the necessary skills and personality to be formally invited to join the club"s competitive ranks. The significance of this event stems from the very first day of my weeklong endeavor with the training camp. I was in awe from the first moment i walked through the doors of the gym at eight o"clock in the morning. The big girls were already there and ready to train. I remember watching the older and more advanced girls at the team practice. Their movements were so uniform, their skills were so precise, and their determination was commendable.
