They move their opinions/behaviors away from desires of influencer: social facilitation & social inhibition: Social facilitation: tendency to perform tasks better/faster in the presence of others. Social inhibition: tendency to perform tasks more poorly/slowly in the presence of others. The ability of a group to perform well is determined by: characteristics of the group members, how the group processes, events that occur while group is working on task.
