What was the curse on the house cadmus? . It is important to point out that cadmus is a phoenician prince who founded the city of. The citizens there call it cadmus in retrospect. So the title really means the curse on the city of thebes. This curse was brought about by cadmus who gazed upon casandra while bathing. The people of thebes faced many repercussions such as drought, infertility, feminine, and cadmus losing his children. The protagonist from my perspective would have to be dionysus. I have chosen dionysus because he is trying to clear his mothers name which was mocked after word spread that he was the son of zeus. Dionysus rising to the power in which he was entitled to as a god did not put him in the wrong after the warnings he has given to king pentheus.
