Document Summary

Three systems involved in ca+2 homeostasis (keeping their levels good) Calcium is a key ion in a lot of different systems: ears, neuromuscular junction, muscle contraction, etc. If calcium levels are not at the right level, could mess up a lot of things. Constant remodeling when we have extra calcium we can put it back in the bones/ taking it away when not needed. If we don"t have enough strength in bones, we can end up breaking those bones: if we strengthen the muscle need to add more strength to the bones too. When people get older = more sedentary/ lack of movement they need to keep them moving around to keep the muscles and bones strong through constant remodeling so they don"t break. If we have too much calcium we can dump the excess in the urine (similar to endocrines)
