Type: crucial to all designs, text, shape, purely visual element. Space: the area between and around objects, the space around objects is negative space or white space, negative space has shape too. Scale: relative size of an element to another, is not absolute, shows the relationship between objects through size and distance. Color: is light reflected off objects, closely related to tone, strongly related to emotions, should be used wisely, warm colors feel closer than cool colors, color overrides tone.
