Document Summary

Pulmonary trunk branches: right and left pulmonary arteries, division into lobar arteries, 3 on right, 2 on left, smaller and smaller arterioles into capillaries surrounding alveoli. Pulmonary system pressure is only 1/6 systemic blood pressure. Leaves the left ventricle through ascending aorta: only braches are the 2 coronary arteries to the heart. Internal carotid: going to brain, left subclavian, going below the clavicle to upper limbs. Left and right side duplicates of each other. Descending aorta: thoracic aorta, at t12 becomes aorta, abdominal aorta, called this when thoracic aorta passes the diaphragm, ends at l4 branching into, right and left common arteries. 3 major vessels enter right atrium: svc, splits into the left subclavian and right subclavian, each have a tube internal/external jugular. Internal jugular vein is draining blood from brain: external jugular vein is draining face and neck. Many veins are superficial: unlike arteries. Venous plexuses are very common: networks of anastomoses and parallel veins.
