ENGL 200 Lecture Notes - Lecture 2: Roman Numerals, Word Processor
Document Summary
Outlining, which is a type of prewriting activities is a plan or technique utilized in writing any journal or research paper. An outline is a technique intended to arrange written thoughts on a subject or essay in a sequential order. Outlines list essential subjects, subcategories, and information to help them. While composing the articles, the authors use outlining to decide which subject to address on which sequence. Paper outlines may be really broad, or quite comprehensive. Outlines are typically divided into subheading in the form of a list to separate key points from pitch point. Many word processing applications include a sketch feature that helps authors to instantly design outlines. An outline can either be structured, unstructured or comprehensive (nordquist, 2020). While outlining our ideas in a paper, we need to consider some rules which helps in making a good paper for both authors and readers. The informal/unstructured outline doesn t need any sentences or structures.
