Sigmund freud is known for his theory of personality and his concept regarding unconscious, says that this helps us understand without our awareness. Strivings come from conflict between impulses (urges) aggressive pleasure seeking urges, and restraint (self-control). Freud theorized interacting systems of personality: unconscious (id), conscious (ego), and the preconscious (superego). Id: unconsciously tries to satisfy basic sexual and aggressive drives, demands immediate gratification. Ego: conscious is the (cid:862)e(cid:454)e(cid:272)uti(cid:448)e(cid:863) a(cid:374)d (cid:373)ediates (cid:271)et(cid:449)ee(cid:374) the de(cid:373)a(cid:374)ds of id a(cid:374)d the superego.
