Document Summary

Both require an object to scatter the light. Both require an imaging device (such as a lens or concave mirror) Both require a surface or projector where the image can form. Both require storage for the image captured. Both require a way to capture light energy at the surface. Have many advanced features: zoom, focus, brightness adjustments (from daylight to darkness, ability to see the immediate result of the picture you take. The eye can do all of these things as well except for zooming. They allow an image to be produced on the inside of a camera. What is an image: a two-dimensional light pattern reflected from an object that resembles it, can be captured electronically or seen by the eye or another camera. Image will have characteristics similar to the object captured in regard to: detail, shape, brightness. But there are trade-offs as well: the more trade-offs you make, the less expensive the lens is generally.
