Includes organs from digestive, lymphatic and urinary systems. Some organs located in another sub-cavity within serous membranes - peritoneal cavity. Contains organs of reproductive, digestive and urinary systems. Single continuous layer of tissue that folds over on itself to enclose a single place. Serous fluid produced by cells of membrane watery, slippery liquid that lubricates organ prevents friction as the organ moves against adjacent structures - between two layers of membrane. Serous membranes surround certain organs (heart, lungs, intestines)
