BIOL 4570 Lecture Notes - Lecture 15: Peripheral Tolerance, Apoptosis, B Cell
Document Summary
Cd4 t cells th1,2,17, tfh, and treg cells. T cells understand they have entered lymph node when they interact with lymph node endothelial cells. Endothelial cells throughout body have different adhesions depending on where they are. Paracortex (blue) is where na ve t cells and dendritic cells encounter each other. Sinus is where t cells exit that haven"t encountered dendritic cell. Blue t cell has been activated cannot exit alone until they fully differentiate and reexpress cell surface molecule that allows them to exit. Trapping t cells that recognize viral apcs and are bound to them interaction lasts 5 to 6 days and leads to proliferation and differentiation. Na ve t cells have cams that can recognize cd34 and glycam-1. Lfa-1 + ig cam (icam-1) will bind with integrin and tell t cell to stop. T cells will extravasate through epithelial cells and into surrounding tissues.
