Document Summary

In positive punishment, a punishment is administered (spanking) In negative punishment, an usually pleasant stimulus is removed (grounding) In general, psychologists believe that punishments should not be administered to children, and instead reinforcement is a much better way to teach them lessons. Punishment can cause them to have cs with certain stimulus, such as specific people. Behavior modification is the usage of operant conditioning to remove unwanted behavior and replace them with desirable behaviors. In different settings, such as school and prisons, different behaviors lead to either an increase or decrease in tokens, which can lead to behavior modification. In his experiment, two groups of children were exposed to different stimulus. One group saw adults playing kindly with bobo (a doll), while the other group saw adults violently attacking bobo. For certain animals, some behaviors cannot be learned because they run against their in-built genetic predispositions. In latent learning, learning occurs without reinforcement.
