Presenting an abolishing operation: an individual with mental retardation engages in aggressive behavior when he wants a break from a task at work. When he engages in aggressive behavior, he is required to continue working on the task, but if he asks for a break his behavior is reinforced with a break from the task. For every hour without swearing, the parent reinforces the absence of swearing by reading to the child. If he swears, the parent does not give attention and he has to wait for another story. Reset the interval: nicole"s parents are trying to decrease the number of phone calls that she makes in a day. If nicole makes fewer than 5 in a day, she is allowed a friend over.
