PSYB45H3 Chapter Notes - Chapter 12: Playtime, Reinforcement, Classical Conditioning
Document Summary
Tommy an 11 year old boy with development disability: was the most disruptive student according to his teacher. Engaged in inappropriate talking and other vocalizations during class. A ta recorded tommy talking out for 50 mins per day. Observer also recorded tommy talk outs during one 50 mins session per day- to ensure accuracy of measurement. In phase 1: behaviour was recorded for 10 sessions: found that tommy average about 1 talk out every 9 minutes. Differential reinforcement schedules or procedures are schedules that reinforce specific rates of responding: used to reinforce high or low response rate, this chapter describes differential reinforcement procedure for decreasing response rates. Increase or maintain an operant behaviour use: positive reinforcement, shaping, fading, chaining, stimulus discrimination training, generalization, and the schedules of reinforcement. Decrease operant behaviour use: operant extinction, punishment, the antecedent control procedures, and the differential reinforcement procedures.
