Up to montana to shoot last woodland bison for smithsonian institution collection. Brought back bison and also a fossil horn found on a ranch. Years later shown to amnh paleontologist barnum brown, found hell creek formation. Finds the first t-rex on a ranch in montana almost immediately under tons of rock, 2 years to get it out. In same publication as t-rex, jaws of another t-rex but named dynamosaurus imperiosaurus (cid:862)i(cid:373)perial po(cid:449)er lizard(cid:863), ja(cid:449)s fou(cid:374)d earl(cid:455) (cid:271)ut pu(cid:271)lished o(cid:374) a later page. Brown wanted to show them fighting and doing stuff. Model came out 18 feet tall, impressive image as obese overbearing being. Vestigial not really useful, just a dwindling evolutionary piece. No tip of tail, osborn made it 45 feet, curly at end. Now mounted in horizontally, 12 feet in height now, counterbalancing tails.
