Sulla gives many colonies citizenship rights but not the samnites. Sulla hated the samnites with an extreme passion and would later commit genocide against this tribe. A triumph is a parade given in celebration of a military conquest. Pompey wanted a triumph for his military exploits in africa, but sulla refuses due to his youth (was merely 28). Pompey was getting incredibly so sulla eventually lets him have the triumph.
