Boreal: is a high latitude forest type (mainly in the northern hemisphere) that is characterized by cold, relatively dry climates with short growing season. Boreal forest are characterized by evergreen, coniferous trees. Temperate: occurs in mid latitude areas of seasonal climate, which typically experience distinct winter seasons and summer growing season. Found within eastern north america, northeastern asia and western and central europe. Cover much less land than boreal forest due to clearing. Tropical: host a very diversity of flora and fauna. Occurs in wet tropical climates of equatorial south and central america, equatorial africa, indonesia and southeast asia. Trees are usually evergreen but not for the energy saving reasons that boreal trees are evergreen.
