Epiglottis most superior cartilage of larynx elastic, during swallowing protects. Trachea fig 25. 5 windpipe, conducts air from larynx to lungs, straight tube kept open by c shaped tracheal cartilages. Carina inferior portion of trachea, divides into bronchi.
