Document Summary
Prejudice is ubiquitous: in one form or another, it affects us all. For one thing, prejudice is a two-way street; it often flows from the minority group to the majority group as well as in the other direction. And any group can be a target of prejudice. Beliefs and opinions about the characteristics, attributes, and behaviors of members of various groups. Treating people differently from others bases primarily on membership in a social group. May occur at an interpersonal, institutional, and/or cultural level. The first step in prejudice is the creation of groups.
