For example: when a honeybee stings an intruder, she releases isoamyl acetate, which excites other bees to join the attack. One of the reasons why some kinds of animals allow us to get closer to them than others is the size of the animals. If the animals are bigger in size than us, then they know that they might be more powerful than us, and if we attack them, they can defeat us. For example, we are fond of cats and dogs, and we take care of them. So they let us get closer to them because they know that we will not do any harm to them: given an example of a local animal that depends on aquatic sites primarily for reproduction. A local animal that depends on aquatic sites primarily for reproduction is a salamander: give an example of a local animal that depends on aquatic sites for food, but does not reproduce there.
