Structured: (survey research) specific interview that lets you translate data into quantitative data. Semi-structured: (combination) predetermined questions that leave space for change open-ended questions. Unstructured: non-directed, exploratory questions that can emerge from own context. These are useful on the beginning stages of research. Academic (euro-centric) way of communication with specific agenda. Metacommunication: non-verbal cues (tone, pitch, gesture, facial expression, body language) that carry meaning that enhances of disallow what we say in words. Speech communication: group of people that share a set of linguistic norms & expectations regarding how language should be used. Interview structure: the participators agree to a set of comm. norms.
