Document Summary

How organisms use energy to grow and reproduce. Energy budget: as the risk of mortality increases an organism should reproduce earlier and more often. True or false: background risk goes up, how will reproduce to get more offspring, more energy to the offspring rather than themselves, alleles drive how an organism makes choices. Guppies at different waterfalls are moved to risky environments/waterfalls where there are more predators. After 10 years, scientists take guppies from both areas and looks at their genotypes. Genotypes are studied in lab because he wants to bring them into a controlled environment. Now the genetic difference can be seen for guppies in two different environments. Figure legend: guppies in controlled (risky) environments use up more energy to reproduce, while transplant or safe guppies showed a steady and lower increase on energy used to reproduce. In week 8 when moved to a safe environment tend to reproduce more. Depends on where an organisms body temperature.
