At the beginning of book 3, there are only 2 classes but guardians get added when the city begins to expand: want spirited people to be the guardians. Be concerned about what you tell the children because they are impressionable and they lack reason. Imitation is a strong part of human nature. Education: how can we train reason to make choices: kids aren"t free, we already think its okay to censor what children do. It matters your reason for deviation from the city. Our impulses are feed by producers of things and their interests is in sales: we choose amongst the available options.
