Her brothers cadmus, phoenix, cilix search for her and this search explains why some parts of the world have gotten their name. Europa bears three children to zeus whose names are minos, rhadamanthys, and saroedon. The three boys quarrel and minos drive the other brothers out of crete and eventually becomes the king of crete. Poseidon is a fan of his kingship and asks poseidon for show of approval of his sovereignty and asks for a bull from the sea. Minos then neglects to sacrifice the bull as he had promised and sacrifices another bull in his place.
