Personal problems lead to political problems for pelops at state. Hippodameia arranges the death of chrysippus by getting her sons to do it. Pelops has kleos (fame) and is seen as a glorious, heroic monarch by outsiders. Theme that runs through the war: is child abuse; myrtilus curse possesses children to kill their own parents. When the parents wrong the gods, the gods punish one"s entire family. Pelops dodges the curse of myrtilus but his descendants don"t.
