It is through this theory that he argues that you can establish political structures. John rawls is writing in reaction to the idea of utilitarianism most notably by jeremy bentham. The conditions are going to be harmful to other people and leads to tyrant of the majority ex. the treatment of african- americans. It fails to look any individual rights that can be sacrificed for the greatest number of people. Kant criticises bentham as well saying that he does not think about the changing character of people.
