While trans people still battle discrimination on a daily basis, there is more of a collective movement that can challenge these oppressions. Now trans people and trans and trans positive clinicians, and academics are being asked to write briefs for the ever-evolving harry benjamin criteria. The era of the gid clinic holding trans people hostage through their application of strict criteria is ended.
