Document Summary
Urpp deadline march 29th; if participating in paper stream deadline march 26. Transference patient unconsciously transfers conflictual feelings about significant others onto the analyst. Psychoanalysis therapist (analyst) wants transference to happen so that this can be discussed in therapy and worked with. Analyst sits in a way so that patients don"t see the analyst (not sitting face to face) so that transference can happen. Projective tests (used by analysts): these tests used vague and ambiguous stimuli. Rather than asking a direct question, vague stimuli are presented so that patients are more likely to reveal unconscious. Examples of projective tests: rorschach inkblot test, thematic apperception test (tat). Rorschach - can be used as an additional test to confirm a particular diagnosis. There are 10 inkblot cards in this test that can discriminate between different diagnostic categories. But analysts who use this test believe that test administrators need a lot of experience and skill to administer and interpret it.
