He realized the same physical laws that operate on earth also operate in the universe. He figure out the laws of motion and gravity. The universal law of gravitation: every mass attracts every other mass. Example: chair to tv: the attraction is directly proportional to the product of their masses. That means larger generate larger force of attraction: the attraction is inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centers. That means if two object are close to each other, there is stronger force of attraction between them compare to two objects that far away from each other. Einstein"s theory of relativity: an improvement (not replacement) on newton"s law of gravity. Newton"s laws of motion are not good for atomic world, speed of light, galaxies and stars and these topics are very very small or very very large. However, one comet is four times farther from the sun than the other.
