For many it is a major in uence, especially in the development of morality but actual formal participation is down. Over 1/2 of children (12 and under) attend at least once a month. More likely if mother is working outside the home and married. Canada more secular as attendance one a month drops from 41% in 1988 to 34% in 1998. Many argue that religion continues to marginalize women. Over half of canadian children ere in some form of child care and 25% of them were in a daycare centre (paid for child-care services at some point) (200/2001) Only about 10% are in licensed day care centres.
