Document Summary

Description of fms: bouncing an object to the ground, in a given direction using hand-eye coordination, while keeping control of the object. Application of fms: dribbling can be used in multiple sport situations, in practice or during a game. It is an example of a manipulative skill theme. There are many sports that involve this fundamental movement skill such as basketball, field hockey, and soccer. In a game context, the purpose of dribbling is to avoid defenders, and cross the opposing field/court in the hope for a goal or score. Objective of this lesson plan: to be able to control the ball, within all three movement categories, which include: space awareness, effort, and relationships. With space awareness, students are to be aware of the surroundings, while controlling the ball in a confined area. Dribbling uses effort when in game situations and races, pressured with time. Finally, relationships refers to the body parts, other objects and people.
