Audience analysis is fundamental to the success of any message. Require shaping your message to meet the audiences interests and needs. Audience is so important because people need to know whats in it for them. Successful messages anticipate and meet the audiences needs. 1: primary-decides whether to accept or act on the message, secondary-comments on the messages or implements recommendations, gatekeeper-has the power to stop the message, watchdog-has power and may base actions on the message. Sender ideas > (feedback) >messages encoded >transmission signals >recipient decodes > receiver meaning > feedback. When it comes to your audience, you need to know everything thats relevant to what you"re writing or talking about. Critical thinking skills help you to analyze and make decisions. Consider the following for groups and the individuals within the groups. Question: what is organizational culture? behavioural norms in organizations are revealed: Verbally through the organization"s myth, stories and heroes. Nonverbally through the allocation of space, money and power.
