Why is it important: audience is so important because people need to know what"s in it for them. Initial: the first to receive the message, primary, decides whether to keep or act the message. Secondary: comments on the message or implements recommendations, gatekeeper, has the power to stop the message, watchdog, has power and may base actions on the message. Sender ideas -> messages encoded -> transmission signals -> recipient decodes -> receiver meaning: both ends meet at feedback, noise (miscommunications) eg. Age, experience, vocab, health (being hungry during an exam can effect how you read a question) What is the paiboc model: apply paiboc when creating messages, ex. I, when, how, who: b, easier/faster way to do your job (pros, o, people don"t like change, c, time (employees might be on a holiday), might be the end of their quarter.
