Green leaf will reflect green wavelengths (cannot absorb the green wavelengths) Never seen alone, other colour is always adjacent, affecting how we view the colour. White background will dull the colours (less saturated) Also refer to as chroma, or brilliance of saturation. Intense hues advance in pictorial space painting on black gesso will result in more vibrant colours than painting on a white canvas. When beside eachother, make each hue more intense and brilliant.
