Double standards, normative control, control girls more than we control boys. Many crimes are prostitution or running away~ used to status offence. Chivalry enacted by criminal justice system, double-edged sword, some women. Not committing crimes=being deviant, 19% of cc offended. Given that women are more likely to be abused and more likely to live in poverty, it would be assumed that the crime rates for women should be higher. Positivist, human behaviour can be determined and measured. Ignored social, cultural, economic, political influences, strictly biology. Dual-focus theory, biological causes and causes of reactions to female offenses. Key point: females are better than men at hiding crimes, because they can fake orgasm, sex, cunning and deceit, passive tradition role in sex.
