Criminology is very masculinized. females are over looked. Why focus on women: biggest growing group being incarcerated. Given that women are more likely to be abused, and to live in poverty its assumed that their crime rates should be higher. Women do about 19% of crimes (81%) She killed seven men with a gun which is what"s wrong with the picture: serial killers usually only use a gun to gain initial control, female serial killers usually use poison. She came from a crappy background, which is what"s right with the picture. Homolka kidnapped, and helped rape and kill two females. She also kidnapped her sister and gave her virginity to bernardo. The sister ended up choking on her own vomit and died. Kelly elard - with her boyfriend, she stomped and killed reena burke, because burke tried to take her boyfriend (not true). Richardson- fourteen and had a nineteen year old boyfriend.
