Document Summary
*socializaion; refers to the process by which someone is taught to live among the other humans. These processes are intended to ensure both physical survival of individual members as well as the survival of the group or culture. When someone is socialized, he has the moivaion, skills, and knowledge necessary to live with others in group relaionships. If pro-social moivaions, social skills or cultural knowledge is missing or deicient, a person can experience diiculies in geing along with others. *for cultures to perpetuate themselves, members need to be encouraged in some way to conform to their values/norms. When socializaion processes are most efecive, the enicements (can involve pressuring/coercing) for conformity involve the learning of values, norms, roles and other atributes associated with adaptaions to the social environment. *socializaion is how people are condiioned so that inborn temperaments, potenials, and capaciies are moulded to produce the desired traits that complement a given group, social environment or culture.
