Police need to know which areas of the cities are getting robbed. Afraid that bad things are going to happen to us. This is because of the media that is portraying this stuff to us. A lot of violence has to do with what the media is reporting. Our obsessions with murder shows might make crime rates/murder rates increase. People are getting more ideas about how to kill. 2/3 of crimes are not even being brought to the polices attention. Some people were concerned to report crimes because of retribution. The offen(cid:272)es that aren"t (cid:271)eing reported to the police are actually going down. Police reported crime is down 6% from 2010. Sexual assault against children up 150% since 2008. Hard to get a grasp if crime is increasing or decreasing. Although crime is down, serious crimes increased. More likely to get shot in rural areas rather than urban areas. People are more likely to have guns in small towns.
