The man at the top- the hands are holding the instruments of torture. Mary and jesus" face are connected, they are in line with each other. They look lifeless, jesus has died and a part of them has too. The woman directly above jesus looks like she is happy to see him more than she is sad. The man at the top is questioning why. Her lower lid is very red and tender, shes been crying for a long time. The amount of tears show that she is overwhelmed with grief.
