A world without god, loss of the human. What kind of questions to paintings ask of us. What kind of spirituality is brought to us from art now. Beauty isnt meant just to make us feel good. Genuine artwork should give us a healthy shock. This is reflected in the colours of the photo. God isnt holding him up, he is the only one supporting himself. Theres nothing left in society that is leading. The eyes are not looking in to the world, its like they are looking inward. The body is in the foreground, so melancholy is in the foreground. The other normal things are in the background. They look distant, it makes us feel distant.
