Esimates begin with a irst approximaion (an anchor) and then we make adjustments to that number on the basis of addiional informaion. Even though it is not necessarily conscious, anchors afect judgments : even when the anchors are impossibly extreme, even when the anchors are obviously arbitrary. There is only one way that people are free from those anchors if you knew the right answer and weren"t making an esimate. When a concept is hard to deine, it is hard to measure. Staring a ire, paper mache, packing material, drop cloth for paining. Some have found a correlaion between the score (# of responses) and other assessments of creaivity. But it ignores some aspects of creaivity (a list could have many similar answers or a wide array of answers, it could have answers that don"t make sense/aren"t useful) There are diferent places to start, but only one correct answer.
