Primary care is your first line to promote care: ex. flu shot, pap smear. Secondary care: minimizing the disease in early stage. Tertiary care: hospitals; focusing on the damage already done. School-age children/ adolescents: sex-ed: older adults: colon screening, shingles vaccine. Five principles usually associated: accessibility, public participation, health promotion, appropriate technology. Cellulitis and abscesses: uti (children vs adult vs older adult, herpes zoster. Ti"s (chla(cid:373)(cid:455)dia and gn, syphilis, hpv, herpes, hiv/aids). Biggest difference b/w common cold and influenza is fever, headaches (associated with flu) Treatment options include: stay home, fluids, medications (tylenol cold and sinus), no antibiotics for a cold and usually not for the flu. Presentation: cold symptoms, fever and cough, difficulty breathing (worse at night), loud barking cough. Infection: viral: nursing considerations, moist and cool air. Fever control: monitor breathing, when should patients seek treatment, treat with tylenol first.
