Clinical populations: a group of people that share a disease/diagnosis or health state . Clinical populations are usually people who have some sort of de cit they stand to get the most out of exercise interventions. Lower functioning means there"s more room for improvement (ie. a lower t individual will see a greater bene t jump from exercise) Examples: stroke, adhd, dementia, depression, cancer, brain trauma, parkinsons, pregnancy etc. Causes can be from a developmental issue (ie. during pregnancy, birth, genetics) or acquired later in life lifestyle factors play a role in acquired dysfunction. No disease modifying treatment or cure for alzheimer"s. The synapse is where neurotransmitters are released and information is exchanged. Amaloyde beta is a neurotransmitter released into the synapse and if it isn"t cleared away from the space, there is an accumulation that causes plaques that can result in the onset of alzheimer"s.
