Ex: femur has to support entire upper weight of the body: millions of osteons are found here to support this weight. There are many layers within a single osteons called lamellae: lamellae are simply bone material. It(cid:859)s ho(cid:449) the fi(cid:271)ers are orga(cid:374)ized that allo(cid:449) the stre(cid:374)gth of the (cid:271)o(cid:374)e: as you move down (or up) a lamellae, you can see the fibers are perpendicular to one another.
