Epidemiological studies: the study of how often disease occur in different groups of people and why. The information is used to plan and evaluate strategies to prevent illness and act as a guide to the management of patients in whom disease has already developed. Cohort study: longitudinal study following a cohort over time observe incidence of rate of disease/outcome. Case-control study: cross-sectional comparison of individuals with the disease to those who are similar but don"t have to disease.
